Description: |
Fine carved speckled green serpentine stone standing figure. Elaborately carved for this type, having well defined facial features, heavy brows, recessed ovoid eyes and partially open mouth. Wearing perforated ear spools. Nicely carved body definition, incised fingers and toes, drilled perforated nostrils. Scattered areas of red pigment and surface encrustation. Original piece reattached in the front right upper leg with some losses along the breakline, shallow chip on left buttocks and lower back, otherwise intact. Custom metal base. A fine quality example. |
