Description: Heavy weight, thick copper pin, having a blue lapis lazuli disc finial with carved decoration on both sides, depicting a semi-abstract relief carved human and animal, and a stylized lion on the opposite side. Sun ray or floral petal outer border, an interlocking geometric pattern border around the edge. Overall heavily encrusted surface patina on the copper pin, and excellent ancient surface patina on the lapis. Missing tip of pin, otherwise intact. Custom bronze base. A rare and beautiful example.
