| Description: |
Exceptional cream slip solid pottery seated shaman, resting his hands on his knees, legs crossed. Head turned slightly to the right and having beautifully sculpted facial features, with black painted highlights to his eye brows and eyes. Very naturalistic sculpted torso. Wearing a wrapped loincloth having fineline incised linear details. Overall scattered mineral deposits on the surface. Head reattached with restoration over the break line. Left hand restored and some restoration to his fingers and toes, otherwise intact, exc. cond. Lucite block base. Certainly one of the finest known examples.
