| Description: |
Very fine blackware pottery avian bottle, having a squared stirrup type spout with a large well modeled monkey sitting next to the chimney spout, with his legs hanging over the edge of the spout. A small perforated lug is on the opposing side of the chimney. The stirrup is connected to a large stand bird, having a long pointed beak, and incised detailed feathers. Tapered round vessel body. A very minor edge flake on the flared lip rim, otherwise intact, exc. cond. A top quality example. |
