| Description: |
Carved solid lightweight wood block form head, probably used in a mummy bundle. Depicted with very naturalistic facial features, inset shell and obsidian eyes. Upper portion of the head is painted in pink flesh tones, and lower portion painted in bluish-green, outer edge borders painted ocher. Some minor paint losses, right eye inlay is probably a replacement. Some ancient loss to the left rear edge of the mask. Hardwood block base. A very nice example, quite scarce. |
